beat the tide to get to the beach by 10am, spent an hour sorting fins/gear, my met station wind was 16 to 20knts, put the 5m and the 6.5 together, changed the fin on the Starboard 92 to a 40cm, let the fin decision on the JP speed wait, checked the met stn, it had fallen in the water as the tide came in above last tide mark- argh. another one lost to Sdy Pt tides... Took off at last and could not get above 27knts  on the gps.. after an hour returned to change the board (never me!) to try out same sail on the JP speed,

pleased that with no whitecaps on the southwester could nearly double the windspeed I think

After trying out the 6.5 on the Stbd92, tried the JP speed 50 for the second time ever, with first a 35cm fin that seemed to rail up making life uncomfortable in just run down and back, so changed to the 30cm- much better no apparent flying off to the east bank! Still could not get over 26knts on the quick look, ah well, may need a littler sail, but the 5.9 a bugger to set up and the 7.8 might have been too ambitious on the smaller board anyway and the 5 already set up probably way too small for the day. by 1.30pm, tide out, the SW died out, and had to walk from the far end first time ever, least not stuck on east side and no/little wind to get back- board sail and me sank- 64lt board of course. by time start rig down a 35knt SE came IN big time, too late, but mangaed to fill car with SAND argh.

Session had 15 good runs over 20 knt in 15 to 18knt wind, pleased and tired and done a acl I reckon, ow on steps...
