Had a phone call from speed buddy Peter Cutts saying that he was going to Point Clear - the first time he has been out windsurfing for eight months !!! so I just had to go along :) It wasn't sailable until 2:30 so we had time for a bike ride to Landguard this morning before heading to Point Clear arriving at 2 - it's 40 miles from Felixstowe :( The wind was abit up and down on the gauge but in the end I went with 7m and Peter 6.5 - after walking out through the mud and having one run in the lagoon making 25 kts but I was way under powdered so returned and rigged the 7.8 which was much better even if I struggle to get a good top speed out of this sail :( I gave up with the lagoon as it was not windy enough and had fun out to sea, then the wind died so I returned to the beach. After a chat with Pete the wind filled in and I had some more fun this time in the lagoon, I think Pete nearly hit 30kts but I struggled to 26 kts with the bigger sail !!! So a good afternoon out with 10 kiters matched by the same number of windsurfers including Dave White and Jack Trollop both flying on 122 lt. slalom boards and 8.5 m sails !!! I left Point Clear at 8 in the evening last away as usual !!!
