Just wasnt convinced that the wind would last long enough in the day for the dropping tide in the afternoon in Dungarvan. Such a shame the low tide was not earlier.  And I really didn't fancy the drive for nothing... it's been a long week at work.

So.. had a quick check in Sutton as tide was much more suitable, and as it was 30-35knots, so why drive away from that?

With neap tides the outside course never really showed itself (and also wind against outgoing tide giving some standing waves on the run in), which meant it was a bumpy ride into a fairly short course (about 200m of fast section), and the speeds reflected that.

As soon as you wound up to speed properly and started to fly, it was time to slow down as running out of flat water.

Anyway - a great warm up session for my new (to me) 38cm wide JP I got from Jacques.  The board felt great and very well behaved, certainly loads of potential for more speed. Can't wait to get it to dungarvan for a proper broad day.

As the tide came in again, rigged a 3.6 and 68 quad and went wavesailing out on the point just to wind down after the speed mission.  Nice to feel in control again :)
