Huge gales in Wellington and all over the country...but surprisingly not so much on the speed coarse. Was very exited at first as the wind direction was more north than normal meaning I would be sailing off the wind more. Never got settled into it especially after going round the handlebars.The wind then moved to the west (as it does) but turned out better as it was not as gusty. Quite happy with my stepped board experiment...more work to do!!!

The closest I can find to a speed course at the moment is the local Shoal Bay . The chop is a killer entering the run with a 20 Slingshot in order to avoid grounding on the bar and gybing at the end is a worry with all the kiters.

Very short run.

Waikanae looks like a great spot.
