Finally with the last session of 2011 I got 70.x average. Beside this some other records like Topspeed, but I hoped for a bit more, on my GPS I saw 76.13 grrrrr

Nice to be on the water at beginning of december, but it was cold, my fingers were, yes they were gone :D I hoped the angle would be broader and not most of the time nearly square which isn't really helpful for a lightweight....but I'm sure I can go faster, at the end with big wind (5.6 was uhm, nice :) ) I could't go faster because I couldn't grap the boom any more with my cold fingers.
Conclusion: Nice to know it is possible to go faster but now happy with the 70.x average.

Thanks Hans for the run on your board. New board and 74top 69run sounds nice, I have something to think about.
By the way: You are not normal, 88top??? I know you are way faster than me, but you gave me 10km/h on average, congrats ;)

Dat het december moet worden om Pr's te varen, nice.

Kon wel nog veel beter. De achterste voetbanden van mijn speed waren bucht. ik kon er maar niet inkomen. Na een aantal runnen op die manier verprutst te hebben, heb ik ze gewiseld voor Primo's. Bingo!

Eerste maal echt gevaren met FF Speed. Komt goed.

Mijn 4.7m² heeft eerst 2 jaar op zolder gelegen. Ik had er de juiste mast niet voor. Deze zomer toch eens mijn huiswerk gemaakt en de mast/cambers passend gemaakt. Gelukkig.

Niet doppler: 70,25 km/h

Wow, waaien deed het wel vandaag.

Ik vond het aan het begin van de dag beter qua richting dan na de middag, terwijl het wel harder ging waaien.

Na de middag zat de wind westerlijker en blies ook eens stuk harder, maar eerlijkheid gebiedt mij te zeggen, dat ik het afschieten in de chop niet zo zag zitten.

Had schrikt voor zware crash, na mijn eerste runnetje van de dag met een crash tot gevolg.

Ik dacht dat ik vandaag PR's gevaren had, maar niks is minder waar.

Behoudens een kleine verbetering max 2 sec. Noppes.

Heb wel veel mannen over het water zien vliegen vandaag, met vele PR's tot gevolg.

Proficiat aan allen.

What a day! The first try with the Strike 20 so I wanted to be careful and the runs (and topspeeds) were disappointing at first. But after a while I began to have confidence in the fin and could let me bear off into the chop.
After a few more runs (without any spinout!!!) it resulted in an topspeed of almost 80!

What an amazing fin is that!! SUPERB!

To bad the wind was to square. I dare to say I could go harder with another angle but neverthess I am happy with this (for this year) last session.
Hands were a little cold by times.

Hope you get better soon Ben!! As I heared it must have been a serious crash you made!

 

Not my kind of weather.

Met deze koude lijkt het of mijn energie level al below zero staat vooraleer ik zelfs 1 run heb gedaan. 5 runnetjes in safe mode gedaan en terug aan de kant. Het is niet anders.

Maar we stonden nog maar eens op het water met een gezellige hoop vrienden en deze sessie kunnen ze al niet meer afpakken!

Iedereen met PB's gefeliciteerd.

Benjamin, hopelijk blijft het bij het breken van je max speed en bij het breken van je board (volgens mij wou je er een mXr board van maken met een step over de ganse breedte :-) en valt de schade aan je pols mee.

@Dennis: heb jij iets nodig van je pa misschien ? :-)

What a day was the first one on the water and the last one off was on a mission today and got some great wind for it today only the cold wasn't nice messes up ur grip.

Made 61 runs 57 were over 40knots 48 of thos were over 41knots and 34 over 42knots and 16 over 43knots now i'm totally burned out wind was pretty square but the strength was good and had some allmost fun all 93km conditions were exiting waves coming over the dam and spray, sun in ur face, people on the strip and a fast increasing chop past the second row of pools ;) and a nice crash once in a while.

Congrats to al the guys with pb's.

Hope i have done enough to win the evaluated ranking today with a 12 month speed average over 81,5km (44knots) been a nice battle Jacques and a succesfull year allready stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

super day, today I took my Falcon 51, I could have taken the 45 but I wanted to prove the range of this board. I think that I had the biggest board, but what a speed and acceleration.  

Also the proto GPS 5 22 was super, no spin-out, great acceleration.  

I've been waiting for these conditions over a year, it was far out the windiest day of the year. Because of the long time it had been since the last time it was this windy, I was too afraid to sail downwind into the chop.

I wich I could't be there today!

Heb de sessie handmatig in moeten vullen, want na een crash is de Navi weer vanzelf met een nieuw bestand begonnen.

Jammer genoeg geen post met een 80+ (2x een 1 sec boven de 80), had erin kunnen zitten vandaag. De versnelling zat er wel in, maar de 10 sec gemiddelde vielen me wel wat tegen.

Na een tweede crash en een voet die door het koude water inmiddels aanvoelde als een houten klomp zonder gevoel, ben ik ermee gekapt.

Heb precies een prachtig dagje gemist (verkouden en geblokeerde spieren in de bovenrug => dan kan je moeilijk gaan surfen)

Aan de PR mannen proficiat, hopelijk keert het lot voor mij ook nog eens. Op de superdagen moet er toch wel steeds iets in de weg staan, is het geen afspraak met mijn vrouw (huwelijksverjaardag), dan is het werk of ziekte :-{=.

Hele dag eigenlijk zitten zoeken naar meer controle, nooit het gevoel gehad echt goed te zitten. Board en zeil zijn nogthans reeds getest geweest en goed bevonden.... denk dat het manneke niet super was vandaag   

Na een deftige crash over de wake van Joeri mijn handen onderkoeld geraakt en vanaf dan geen grip meer. Na nog enkele NOgrip runs en wat geknoei wijselijk besloten te stoppen.

Spijtig dat het manneke niet beter was vandaag want het waren wel mijn favoriete omstandigheden...

Dat was best vechten met zoveel wind!

Bij dit soort omstandigheden komt het toch wel op conditie en lef op aan.

Ook nog gevaren met de Missile xs en slingshot21 en een racing blade 5,6m

maar dan moet je wel kunnen surfen, voor mijn gevoel kan deze set wel serieus hard!!

What a day!! This morning went to Budapest (Hungary) and back to Brussels. Then full speed from Zaventem to Herkingen for a nice speed-session. The sun was shining and many had already some very nice speeds. With my featherweight of <75 Kg decided to rig a 4.7 iaw the Missile Xs. Suddenly the wind dropped and there I was with my storm sail… Luckily the wind picked up again, but the angle was too square to get the maximum out of the gear. Also my harness lines were too short (even on the longest setting), so I did some runs before finding an ok-setting (it wasn’t ideal but hey it’s just too windy to go back to the car).

And then finally I saw the right gust and went downwind, real deep, until the second row of pylons where the chop was building up fast. Went upwind again and checked my GPS screen: 80.04 kmph !!! Yihaaaa !! Only a short burst because the run was only 69.8, so unfortunately no 80+ on 2 sec, but still entering the top-5 Belgian GPS topspeed (2 sec) all-time ranking :-)

Did a few more runs and everytime over 75 kmph on topspeed but disappointing 10 sec runs. When trying to go further downwind to extend my 10 sec run, it happened. Lost grip on my Slingshot 19 in the chop and spinout. Because I didn’t want to crash through my sail, I’ve let myself go at 75.60 kmph coming down the hard way on my back (with crashvest). Needed 2 seconds to know where I was… Then found my Missile completely broken (still attached to each other, but from left to right broken over the whole width). Also felt some pain in left hand. Managed to surf the broken board back to the harbour, but my hand became more and more of a problem. GPS went off as well… Session over Lafter only 10 km’s and only 9 runs, of which the first 5 were testing the settings (harness lines and boom height). AVG could have been a lot more, but that’s for next time. Preferably with left foot in front, which is my favourite position. But still happy with the topspeeds with my ‘bad’ foot in front !!

At home went to hospital and they found a little fracture in my hand… So no PR-session tomorrow at ZM :-(

Already a new Missile Xs at home (thx Dave as well for de-rigging my gear), but need some rest now.

Congrats to all the hero’s today in difficult conditions (cold temp, gusty, choppy in downwind runs). Hans, what a performance again !!! Or did you went for distance today and just took the speeds as they came ? ;-)

erg indrukwekkend het weer en de conditie waarin gevaren moest worden. moet nog veel leren maar stukje bij beetje gaat het beter. angst is nu nog mijn grote probleem. hans erg bedankt weer voor je info ben er blij mee.
