Another very gusty and square day, pretty frustrating most of the time as 90% of the time I felt under powered on the 5.7m, maybe I need to start going 1 size bigger as I felt under powered on the last few sessions. BUT, I did manage to improve my PR slightly. Shame I could not catch just one more decent gust to have moved up to 39k average. First half done on the W49, last half done on the W44, both gave similar speeds. Tectonic Nomads working very well for me.

Good enough day, was fun:)

Bit more west than yesterday, not able to baring off towards sailing club (SE Conner)

Mast Arrows 400 (75%)

Started off with a new sail (thanks to Pete and Farrel) but was underpowered to start off with. Considered changing up but the guys seemed pretty confident it would pick up. An almighty squall saw Tris "Hasty" Haskins get a 42kt max, which is a amazing increase on his PB, so big congrats to Tris....well impressed!!!

Wind finally increased and stabilised later in the afternoon and worked great with my new sail. Unfortunately, I then spun out in the chop and crashed head first into the sail bending my neck...ouch! Resulting in a trip to A&E and trapped nerve down my arm.

It was still worth it though! See ya next time!

brilliant windsurf today set new pb's, shame about completely destroying my boom at 39knots,  but nice day at west kirby all in all !

know where to improve !!

- Weight jacket

- better masts and boom maybe x9's

Well worth the drive wind was up and down and a bit square. Not a classic Kirby day but great fun on a 5.5 in the sunshine.

Another after work session.

Peak of 33.2 knots on run 1, adjust my harness lines a bit, run 2 feels more settled with a peak of 36.1 knots, it's starting to feel like tonight could be good when it goes and dies off and leaves me struggling to even get on the plane !

Stick it out for another hour or so but it never really switches back on and I spend the time trying to make best use of what there is but competely underpowered.

Good turnout and put some new faces to names from some of the guys from down south.

What a great day!

Although the conditions weren't epic by West Kirby standards they were still good enough for me to break several of my PBs - peak speed, 10s, 5 x 10s and 250m.

It was only my second visit to WK and I arrived mid-morning to take a few photos of Will and Ian during their "warm up" session. The wind was due to be best in the afternoon so I was keen to save my energy!

I sailed on and off for about 4 hours but it was the final hour when things started falling into place. My tuning had improved the way the kit was behaving and I also borrowed a weight jacket from Pete Davis to see how it felt. With 3kg the difference was noticeable and with 6kg it was definitely a help. I will certainly be investing in one... either that or I'd better start eating more pies!

I'm looking forward to the next speed session at WK. Hopefully the wind will be more westerly so that I can hug the wall for the entire run!

quick morning warm up session with Ian before the tide breach.

Good sail with everyone and sunshine out again. Felt like a tough day to get high speeds so quite pleased with the time...wish I had put my wetsuit on quicker - had to watch Ian get the gust of the day as the rain squall came through :-)

Who to thank first...

Got to be Paul B for digging out his 5.2 Simmer for me ... seems to have done the trick

Brilliant day with all the usual suspects. If Ian, Steve (1+2), Faz, Paul, Mike, Mark etc didn't all make it look so easy - I don't think I'd ever have had the bottle to go for the big 40.

Totally stoked with a max of 42.51knots. Bumped my PB up by almost 5 knots

CHEERS EVERYONE

PS - Cleggy is OK. He had a big hit and pile dived his rig... been to hospital but confirmed JUST soft tissue injury !!!

Quick morning warm up session before the tide breach.

Last session of our West Kirby trip, conditions were good enough to keep everybody interested but it never really happened today. Seemed to be veering from WSW to W all the time and very gusty, still a great 2 day trip and nice to share the journey with Will T.

Since snapping my favourite fin I took the time to demo maybe 10 different fins including

KA 21 assy, Slingshot 21, Moo assy 20, C3 strike 20, TM45 assy modified, in both Falcon Speed and Missille xs, my favourite combo was the Slingshot 21 with the Falcon which was rock solid and amazing getting back upwind.

Thought this would finally be the day to get fully lit and post some high times, but for the 3rd time in a row it just didn't happen. Missed the squall whilst rigging up at about 3pm.

Nearly went to Roa Island, but thought it too risky incase I missed an epic Kirby, but in hindsight would have been the perfect day to recky it.
