A lot of work for 33k average. gusty winds from 15k to maybe 25k, but 20k most off the afternoon. Very square course. I need to figure out trim and stance for square courses.
Not a classic WK day we got there at 7.30 hoping for 40 + knots and had 20 to 25. But it was sunny and great fun.
Bit disappointed my max speed was good but 10s were not great and I was underpowered in the windy period. Excuses over and I had a great day.
first trip up to west kirby.... brilliant spot to sail carnt wait to try it on a howling north west and rip up the knots, cut my foot highlight of the day was riding the speed board first time this year 2nd time ridden :') all in all good day and new personal bests
Turned up at midnight and the wind was howling 81mph gusts.  Van only did 18mpg getting there with headwind.  Did too much yapping and not enough sailing early on and missed the best wind.  Rigged the 6.4 and borrowed Daz's W49 took off my weight jacket and went for a play. All good fun.

Two sessions to post from today. This is the first - the other was on my Falcon Speed. The wind was pretty square on the course, it was nice and flat down the wall and although I was planing all the time, I was a touch underpowered and certainly for the last half of the session I could have been using my 7.7.

Not sure why but for some reason my gybes really came together today and I came within half a knot of beating my previous best alpha - next time.

It was good to finally get to meet Howie (or is that Harry ;-)) our team captain in person. Looking forward to next time !

repost...
Anyway could have been classic if it was windy. I had peaks all morning of between 37-39 something knots but the wind was so light it was effectively a slalom board day. Great practice sailing my tiny speed board with a 5.2, all peaks were gained by bearing off hard from the wall in any gusts available. 10 sec speeds were impossible with the small rig as zero power. Managed a couple of jybes on the little thing too.
The night before was the most wind i'd ever seen, it was 50-60 knots SW in the car park and the wind/chop on the surface of the lake was unlike anything i'm ever likely to experience.
