Strong westerly fading tail end of Cyclone Dovi thru the guts of Auckland.Couldn't make Herne Bay Meola due to bridge closure  / traffic upper harbour and stomach to launch at Birkenhead wharf which just about got ripped off its foundations. Happy with the 500m.Yeah Nah!!

After waiting for the wind ease back and the tide to come in I finally got out at Shoal Bay, Rigged 5,5 and tried the 26cm Techtonic. The wind was W 30 knots gusting 35. The speed lane was open and there were only a few Danglers getting in the way. My first run was sweet as the water was flat and I got a good gust. The watch read 32.4 knots /62kmph another PB!
