Great fun, hour and a half sailing, with Mark H and Pete C last 40 minutes in the dark. a bit to square to get any real speed. Had to stop , having had a near miss with a buoy, whilst sailing back up wind
Speed sailing in the dark is fun. Got down around 3pm, rigged a 6.3m and iS44, stepped into the water and the wind dies to nothing, bugger!! Got the iS53 out and a big slalom fin and the wind increased a little, and was just about about enough to get going, but way under powered and only pulling 31/32k's peaks. Just as it was going dark, the wind picked up to 20/25k, square and pitch black dark. Speeds went up a bit to 35k's peak. I should have been on my 7m and a smaller 28cm fin to make the most of this extra wind, but time was against us so opted to stick with what I had and just get some fun night runs in. Stayed out till 5.30pm with Paul and Peter. You could just about see the wall on a starboard tack, but you were sailing blind on a port tack due to being dazzled by the towns lights. Will defo sail in the night again, was fun.
Magic Session.

Not quite windy enough for speed with 6.4. so  I abandoned the speed board and concenrated on just enjoying sailing.

As darkness fell the wind filled in a bit so carried on sailing as long as possible.

With no visual clues you really feel the wind in your sail and sailing somehow becomes more instinctive.

As the moon broke through the clouds a soft light illuminates the lake and behind you is a brilliant white wake which looks like its glowing.

Just three sailors not wanting to stop.

Brilliant.
Hey Peter Sounds like you were smoking something magic too??  Peace Bruv
Not really windy enough for a 6.5

Just used the slalom board.

Good to be back out on the water for a couple of hours.
Pottering about on a 9.0 but nice to be out on the water and on the plane.
