A really nice way to celebrate my birthday! The first time over 36 on the display, with one run at 36.1 and another at 36.8. A new feeling to get to those speed. The board was up higher than normal and everything felt really good. Been surfing just so much lately and I guess it just payed off. Not really sure I know what I did differently though. It was increadibly windy. In one run I saw a monster gust ahead of me in which the water was just white and flying off. I did not dare to go for it, but unhooked and hang on as good as I could before having to bail out and let go of the kit which took off and landed some 20m downwind. I still had 35.4 without the harness. After having two really nice days at Torkelstorp I really only had time for Shitbay and decided to give it a go. It may be familiarity, but I must say I like Shitbay more. No stones, no weed, safe, and accessible. There were many sailors in Torkelstorp who I know are around 3-4 knots faster than me, who had just better speeds. I think it is due to the wind. On the western winds, Onsala peninsula takes out a good part of the power of the wind. The only real disadvantage is that it is way too short for anything but peak speeds. Having two runs over 36 and another three well above 35, an average under 34 is a bit disapointing. But still PB so hard to complain really.
OMG. The first time I`m glad I didn`t go to Torkelstorp. Shitbay was hystericly fun. I have never seen a windsurfingequipment fly so high and long. To bad you didn´t have the GPS on the boom, Glader. Surely a record to report. My first session with an average over 31 knots. By the way Happy birthday, Fredrik (Glader). YEAA
