Best day of the year so far, we had a great week in Avon, NC with five consecutive days on 4.7 or smaller sails!!   Best Hatteras week ever, temperatures were warm with water of 60 deg F and air about 70.  Talked with Dean as we were both searching for flat water.   Got my best run with a nice gust behind the island at Island Creek, unfortunately the island usually blocks the winds a bit, and the open waters are too choppy for speeds much beyond 30 knots.  It would be nice to bring back the speed reef in Avon, maybe Ocean Air will get another 200 meter tube deployed like they did in 1993.

Fun to watch Mike, Stuart, Andy and others do their freestyle tricks, but my goal was speed.  Enjoyed sailing with Ken and other locals in the evenings, they rest up all day so can sail from 5:30 to sunset.
