Wild Conditions predicted by all the weather forecasters and it came through with more force than expected. By 10am it was a solid 35 knots so had to rig my old VX3 4.7. First few runs were really uncomfortable on this rig due to it's harsh nature and lack of ability to exhaust. My outhaul clip was also locked solid so had a bagged out sail on a really tight course. Eventually Got more comfortable but had NO Acceleration through the gusts because of the rig and too large a Fin (Slalom 26). Basically was just stuck doing 37's and 38's. Later in the Day used a XS missile with a 4.5 Vapour, smacked the fin but went for a long run anyway and immediately got over 40 but was too tired at this point to continue. For sure a day to remember with the sun out and wild 45knot gusts blowing plumes of vapour over the wall whilst you were sailing down the course. First time I've ever sailed in winds like this and totally fired up for the next day like this. Great to Be sailing with everyone from the South West and Some great performances from all the other guys especially Beefy who was looking comfortable bearing off in both directions. Bob won again!
