Today was always a gamble and we lost, wind was too strong really but probably would of been okay if there was anywhere broad and flat enough to get up to speed. East course was square and the west course too choppy with waves at the end of it.

We played safe and gave up.

Only managed a couple of runs today as it way too windy and choppy for me on 5.5m..

First time out since Luderitz and straight into 5.0m weather! I definitely felt the lack of sailing fitness today. It could have been very quick but was just too broad for the west course and square on the east, which in today's wind was tough. Bearing away from the bank gave 3 seconds of acceleration and then death chop! A day to potentially really hurt yourself - at times the water was white........
