Good sailing this morning. The wind had turned to a better angle first thing and it continued to pick up and shift around to the WSW. Ended up with some very nice conditions (For this place) but I had to get out just as it was getting good so hopefully Jonny Vapour will have blitzed these times by the time he is finished. The wind in open spots of the lake was strong but coming upwind towards the clubhouse from the south end you could bear off into the middle of the lake on a small section of flat water, the wind was very shifty in this spot and I ended up oversheeting most of the time or spinning out in the chop after a few seconds. My parents and wife and son turned up which was nice. Looks like this is the end of a great couple of weeks of windy weather, will be back playing cricket next week!

Early on the gusts were like being on the receiving end of a broadside, but eventually the wind settled and we ended had a good day on 6.5s again.

Spent the day testing fins again, the Blackdaimond RS30 has got the thumbs down after a number spinouts off the wind.

However its bigger brother the RS34 didn't let me down once today, including some hairy runs going broad over the chop in front of the centre in some chunky gusts. Can't understand what's going on, as the 2 fins have got similar flex bend characteristics. The only thing to raise an eyebrow is the RS30 is about 7% stiffer in twist than the RS34. Matbe this difference should be the other way round?

Jonny Did it go WSW, looked as though it had gone around on XC weather. Anyway good to get some sailing in, even my mum had a good sail!!!
