8. Time schedule

Races will be held within a given fixed timeframe mentioned in the notice of race. The start time depends on weather forecast. The earliest possible start during a USM day is 12 o’clock to make sure those coming from far can join the race. In the final call, which will be given at the latest 12 hours before the start of the event, the earliest possible skippers meeting time will be mentioned

9. Skippers meeting

A skippers meeting will be held before the start of every USM race.  The skippers meeting might be given by an experienced rider. The race director does not necessarily have to be present during the racing day.

10. Safety

Any competitor can protest against another competitor who is not racing safely. A protest which is allocated by the head timekeeper will automatically lead to disqualification for the day.The use of helmets and impact vests is strongly recommended.

Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk, see RRS 4 - Decision to Race. The organising authority or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the event.

12. Ranking

The overall ranking will be based on 5x10 seconds and the low point scoring system is used with a weight factor depending on the avg speed of the best rider of that day.

(The ‘-‘ sign means till/in Dutch: tot)

High speed race: 70 – 75 km/h score * 1,00

Ultimate speed race: 75> km/h score * 0,50

There will be extra prices available for the overall highest Alpha and Nautical Mile set during the year event.

13. Average speed groups

In 2013 apart from the overall raking also a ranking with average speed groups will be made at the end of each period. A competitor will be placed in a given average speed group based on his/her standing average speed as shown in The standing average speed of a given competitor at the start of the first race a competitor takes part in, will be leading. Speed groups will be divided as follows:

50kmh to 55kmh

56kmh to 60kmh

61kmh to 65kmh

66kmh to 70kmh

71kmh to 75kmh

If a competitor betters his or her average personal best speed as shown in the ranking before the second period, the given competitor will be placed in anotherspeed group during the second period. If a competitor didn’t post on www.gps-speedsurfing.combefore the start of the event the competitor may inform the race organization about his/her standing personal best.

14. NK

An NK (Dutch Championship) may be held at a potential Ultimate Speed day.

-A maximum of 2 racing days per stand by period will be held.

-A High wind speed day will count if at least 1 rider set the required minimum speed for that given type of racing day and at least 10 riders set a minimum speed of 65 kilometers.

-An Ultimate speed day will count if at least 1 rider set the required minimum speed for that given type of racing day and at least 5 riders set a minimum speed of 70 kilometers.

-After 3 races one discard is allowed. Every race day will count for the ranking and the result * the factor will be used for calculating the discards. Competitors not participating at a given racing day will get maximum points: total number of competitors inscribed for the event + 1 * 1,50.

-The overall ranking will be based on all races and will take into account the discards.
