Update 08-09:pictures available of the ESM BBQ and GPS device and software training. Pictures from Gerben de Boer!
The second ESM suffered yet again from a lack of wind. Robert Seinen however managed to get close to the minimum required average speed of 60km in very light windspeeds proving the potential of this spot. Eventhough only four riders got some runs in the closing dinner was attended by 60 competitors.
The ESM will be prolonged, just like last year and it will become a record attempt. The call will only be given when predictions look truly promising for very high speeds. The wind direction needs to be between W-NW and the required minimum windspeed will be 35 knots.
To join the event you only have to subscribe for the event. There will be no registration needed at the campsite. There will be no entry fee.
During the event all competitors can stay for free at camping bad Hoophuizen. The race is meant as an event for and by windsurfers. By posting a session sailed at the racing venue one of the racing days you officially joined the event. The ESM is meant as a serious racing event but it's also a nice opportunity to meet and greet, like last years' event has proven.
A free BBQ is sponsored by Telstar Surfing and will be held during the prize giving on October 6.
