It is time to announce the official “Lithuanian GPS Speed Challenge 2011” race organised by windsurfing club „Vejas galvoje“ ir “Facebook” group „Winder.lt“
This is the 2nd year for this type of race, which runs from 6th of May 2011 to the 30st of November 2011. The race will be divided into 2 divisions: windsurfing & kitesurfing. Nevertheless, at the end of this year we will know who is faster in Lithuanian conditions, - a windsurfer or a kitesurfer.
Thanks to the the main event sponsors AUTOPLIUS.LT and WINDIGO UAB the winners of the event will be awarder with the great prizes.
Additionally, daily “15min” will be covering the event in the newspaper „15min“ and internet portal www.15min.lt.
Speed results for the event will be measured by the "Average of the 5 Fastest Ten Second Runs". The speed measurement can be taken by anyone on any waters in the territory of Lithuania. The “Lithuanian GPS Speed Chalenge 2011” follows the rules set out by the www.gps-speedsurfing.com. The event is also recognized and approved by the www.gps-speedsurfing.com.
This event is designed for sailors of all skill levels, from beginners to the most experienced windsurfers & kitesurfers. However, you have to be in it in order to win it. And its FREE!!! You can post your results as many times as you like all period long (2011.05.06-2011.11.30). We want you to participate as often as you can!
This event runs on a completely flexible schedule over a 7 month period. You decide when you want to race. Shortly, you will need a valid GPS unit and a user account @ www.gps-speedsurfing.com for posting your results.

The official GPS unit of the “Lithuanian GPS Speed Chalenge 2011” is the GT-11, GT-31 by LOCOSYS Technology. Garmin units such as the Foretrex 201 and Forerunner 201 are also acceptable.GPS units GT-31 are available for rental and sale. For more details contact gediminas@winder.lt
