Day trip for a chance to better the stats I should have last trip.

Went out on the old RSR 6.7 early as I thought the 7.8 / Falcon 89 / Delta weed 27 might be a bit unbalanced and heavy.  The old thing did ok and still had plenty of bottom end grunt.  It was fantastic blasting in the flat water and glass patches(reminded me of the early 90's here) and I soon got a 40 on the dial.

Got up close and personal with Choco on one run when he was in my blind spot and I was in his!  The nose of his board tapped the foot of my sail and since we both came of unscathed I continued down the run.  I only knew about it when I heard a tap and Choco saying woah...Shows up in the video footage...

Went in and changed to the 6.2 evoIII at lunch when it looked like it had picked up and headed out on the JP49 up to the NM start where I sat waiting forwind.  It was too gusty and my attempt was pathetic so I wnt in to swap the 49 for the Falcon 89.  During that critical rig swap I was a bit lax and off flew the 6.2 cartwheeling and floating for 50m - I had to chase it down through the shin deep slop.  Each time I nearly caught it off it went po-going end on end until it finally stopped long enough to pounce. The mud is more draining than sailing!

Went out for a few more NM attempts but I couldn't time any decent wind through the run and was oversheeted on the verge of stalling the whole way down. Looks like I will have to wait until next summer for a crack with some good wind as I had to head home and didn't like the prospect of roo's in the Coorong.  Ended up seeing a couple of sheep and only 1 roo which I was happy about.  Pulled in the drive at 12 after leaving at 7:30.  Took Choco's advice and sprayed the undercarriage of the beast at Meninge, mileage went up after that.

When I left Spotty was flying and didn't seem to have any problems with lulls, I am sure he had a big 40+Nm in there.

Great quick trip - I had hoped to sail Monday arvo when I had arrived at 6 but the launch was flodded on the westerly and I couldn't go to the spit with the commo.  I will hopefully have the x-trail next time.

Great to catch up with Hamma, Chocco, Kym(congrats on the 6 pb's), Dave and Tricky from the demons, Daffy, Spotty and Kato as well as Cam at the end.

Will post some footage some time of the glass and fin trails...

RSR 6.7 - Falcon 89 - Delta Weed 27 then EvoIII 6.2
