It seems I found my mojo back :-).  After a few years off for the first time sailing behind a stone wall today and yesterday. Yesterday to find out how boring that can be when it's light and you can hardly plane on a speedboard (so you won't see me a lot fighting for day honours in the light stuff), but today I felt again how much fun it can be when speeds get up and I can't wait to test how far modern fins and sails can take me. I feel I am still able to set some decent speeds if my bones hold. It's insane how fast you can go in windspeeds that a few years ago would have resulted in many knots slower speeds and most certainly not in a peakspeed of over 80. Also good to see some old faces and thanks for the warm welcome (thanks for your kind comment in your post and heartwarming words Patrick). The wind was way too light for the 5.7, even in the strongest gust but so happy that it seems I can still stir the pot. I nailed one run exactly like I wanted too, obviously with the support of some added wind, but still I was stoked to find out my gut feeling was right when training at strand Horst. Over there the last season I learned to sail on my fingertips with support of material that is suited for normal riders instead of the giants leading our sport. This old man isn't done yet speedsurfing and I am happy to fight the monsters at the top, even if I know upfront this is theoretically impossible.

My drive has clearly shifted from personal victories to try and find ways for making lighter guys go fast.  As I lost a lot of weight compared to a couple of years ago, I thought that would be a nice objective. Serge is a great friend, weighs just about the same, is mostly equally fast on similar gear and together we tested and analyzed a lot and will do so in near future.

So happy and thrilled Art and Barry are open to ideas as sharing ideas and working on designs is even more compelling than the racing itself. I gladly leave the victory to the young, tall and heavy but I won't make it easy on them...
