Day 3 - and this was the one we had been waiting for.

The Ray, low tide, a good solid breeze and proper broad as well.

The wind came in at the duly appointed time, just as the sandbank was starting to uncover. Took me a few runs to get a feel for the place and work out where the fastest section was (up the top).

Got up the top, picked up a nice strong gust, and absolutely caned it down the course. Came to a halt, looked at the speedo, and started doing back flips on a mud bank in the middle of the Thames - finally cracked the big 40 - incredible feeling.

Sailing back up the course was hard work, but I managed to get 12 runs in of which 6 were bloody brilliant.

After the first big squall blew through I was knucking fackered so called it a day, happy in the knowledge that the average was going to OK thanks to the restore function on the Navi.

Got home last night and had a bit of a trauma getting the data off my Navi, but GPSAR Pro delivered the goods, hence the amended post.

Big thanks to Matt for looking after us this weekend.
Thanks to Adam for lending me 5 kilos of weight.
And thanks to Simon who kept telling me I could do it.
