Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.5 .

Thursday 13th June  - bike ***  –  Around Felixstowe –  sunny periods.

Today is the start of a run of winds from the sw, hopefully a little milder but loads of showers expected:( I had hoped to get out foiling around 10.30 to coinnside with low water but the wind was still too light so I had time to do my exercises in the sunny back garden while Mag headed off on her bike to see a friend at her allotment. With the wind still light I decided to have a quick spin around Felixstowe on my bike to get some pics to send to the TV weather. Down to the prom I turned left and had a tail wind as I cycled to The Fludyers shopping for some beach flower pics, then around to The Dip, through the boat yard at Felixstowe Ferry and out onto the bumpy Deben path, the highlight being a couple of avocets seeing off a egret! Then back across Marsh Lane, past the park at The Grove, through the town and home. Mag was home nnow doing her favourite thing, sieving compost, after sending a few pics to the TV I hitched the trailer and headed down to Squiz Lane to check out the conditions?

Windsurf ***

Parked easily at Squiz Lane and with a good breeze blowing cross-on from the right I quickly set up my foil board and took a chance with my 6.5 which was OK and I was flying pretty much the whole session, I might even have got away with my 5.5! With the tide maybe half in it was fairly smooth to start with and did several long two and a half mile runs out with some OK gybes, as the tide came in the sea did become pretty big and lumpy so it was not a day for going fast. After about 90 minutes and with the wind increasing I decided to call it a day with loads of wind coming, there was quite a lot of boat action today including the Harwich Lifeboat, The David Attenburgh, container ships and ferries!
