Got up at 0400 like a kid at xmas down the beach for 0600 to wake the pikeys up kev and the big Zzz and as always blowing the wrong way.... Then it started to shift looking good but nuking getting worried about sail size got no smaller than a 5.8m oh well. Fast very fast but too broad well sort of going quicker wilder than ever before quite bumpy but fast and gusts well never been that twitchy even when i used sail before(many years ago) but every run pb's what a result think everyone was doing the same, Camel looked smooth and fast Pete was flying well done mate you got some serious mental issues at that speed and Kev was dialled right in what a morning!!!
Heads up to Pete setting proper standards to show the WK boys come and have ago if you think your hard enough ice rink nancys...... lol.
Early start to get to Weymouth but worth it, didn't manage to get on the water until after the really good wind but as this is still a learning game I'm not too bothered. Glad to get the 30+ knot average, that was the target so happy!
Lots learnt and lots still to learn!
Good day but a bit choppy when flat out!
So near and yet so far nearly put portland on the map with a 40k average but still well pleased with the pbs for here . It was absolute torture though getting across to the run and getting back was a serious challenge in itself and the youngsters (compared to me) were making it look easy! if only I could have got more runs in when it was cranking.
Have to mention the 6.3 simmer which was awesome down the course(if you could call it that) it just felt so smooth downwind.
A good turn out for an early start and a great day was had by all, well done everyone for surviving, also no injuries but I saw a few near misses.

Well Done Pete,
Awesome for Portland... Blimey!!! Those are WK speeds!!!

Excellent Pete! I didnt go over to Portland today as I thought the tide was out all day. What time did you start, sunrise?
what a day early start well worth it 6.3 simmer handled the gusts well good to see so many people speed sailing . well done pete one day i will get 40 kn!!!

Awesome day, well done to all the boys Especially Pete, proved why he should be windsurfer of the year today theres not many people to rival him at portland right now

Thanks for the comments, to be fair everyone did brilliantly it just gos to show what you can do when you get a good group pushing each other on without kev, steve, nick etc. iwouldnt have got here.. The conditions were far from easy, how kev was getting a 50l board back and across to the course i'll never know it was like sailing portland race going back, look out when he gets to sail somewhere fast...

Anyway start of session was about 7.30am we were all ready earlier but before this wind was s/e, start of session and all top speeds were done in virtually a southerly maybe a bit of west but virtually a dead run down the course most of my top speeds were heading towards the beach!. Top 500m run was done as the wind eased and swung to s/w that nearly killed me as I was completely spent from earlier. wind swung threw 90 degrees probably within 1/2 hour and went westerly for the rest of the day and it looked pretty sailable all day portland end.
Hopefully i'm skiving tomorrow morning (tues) and going for a nice relaxing cruise lol.
Wow...was that windy...pleased to get a PB but felt I could have got faster if my boom hadn't have exploded at 37knots. ouch
