Saturday 28th June – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny periods and hot.
Foil – 18.53 knot max, 17.60 knot ave., 13.42 knot hour, 15.55 knot mile, 32.23 km., 14.17 knot alpha.
Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.5.
With a good breeze from the WSW forecast I decided to head down to The Manor fairly early arriving at Squiz Lane around 8.30:) With the wind crossoff it can be difficult to judge the wind strength but it did not look overly breezy so I set-up as yesterday taking a chance with 6.5 which proved OK until the wind turned west and dropped but I had been out nearly a couple of hours by then so called it a day as knackered as this was my third day of sailing, the breeze did return to WSW and increase ! On launching I was up and flying straight away and thought I might have rigged too big but it was alright in the end especially as the sea was lovely and smooth and today I did shorter runs where the sea was better and gybing more fun! So that’s it for wind for a few days but I have had three good sessions all local, like today where I was home by 11.30 so we had a relaxing quiet time in our little garden, I even managed my exercises even if a tad on the hot side!
