Not so bad with square wind and bad mast!

Ik wilde mijn nieuwe 5.0m² gebruiken. Omdat het niet echt veertig knopen waaide, de 4m mast erin en weinig downhaul. Eerst geprobeerd met de JP50. Hiermee geen snelle runs, maar kon er mee upwind terugvaren. Toen het iets choppier werd, de JP45 genomen. Runs waren eerst niet sneller en kon niet meer upwind, terugvaren, daarvoor stond ik met de 5.0 te klein. Toen er eindelijk wat meer wind kwam had ik al veel kracht verspeeld, mede door het teruglopen. Kortom, de 5.0 had heel snel terug de zak in gemoeten en ik had met 5.6 moeten varen. Maar in niet zo'n harde wind met 5.0 één goeie run kunnen doen(+40k. Max +42kt, niet slecht)
Volgende keer maar Koen zijn setup gebruiken met de JP50(zelfde vin als met de 45) loopt verbazend goed, zowel in de run als upwind.

In the meanwhile 2 years passed since I had only 1 session on my small speedboard the Falcon Speed 44. 
Takes some time getting used to, these conditions, this place, this board…but after that.. such great feeling to be sailing again on the small gear here at La Franqui… big time fun!!
End the end of the session when rigging off, I discovered that my downhaul was released about 3cm!! Cause ==> to worn out downhaul rope. Did this release happen during the last best run I made?? Was this the cause I didn’t make any more great runs after that??.. Guess we will never know..
Anyhow.. only 1 good run, 1 ok, the rest not what I really wanted, but had great fun! And consistency will only come with more sessions on the small gear, and not making mistakes :-D.. bring it on!
 

Vandaag de 70 km/h gepasserd op de 2 sec. jammer dat de wind na een uur te Noordelijk werd waadoor je zowat voor de wind langs het strand voer. Geen hoog gemiddelde dus, maar toch blij met deze PR

Yes.. was not sure on the beach, but while uploading I notice a new PR on AVG and also on run. Really nice session, started at 9.

made 5 runs with the Isonic 50, but the wind picked up so changed to the W44. Impressive wind gusts and nice to surf with Georg, Rainer, Armin und Birgit and many others. Koen, thank you for not making jokes with me today ;)
