Thanks for lending out the fin Mark.

Despite the rain a nice session and not too cold either. I tried the biggest Simmer I've got on loan and noticed I was underfinned. Mark lent me his fin as I forgot to take large ones with me. The S10 is a nice fin but for me it would be more suitable as slalomfin than as a pure speedfin. It pushes the nose of the board down on broad courses, but cross and upwind it feels very balanced and well behaved. I would rate it as an easy going fin, but not particularly fast in endspeed. Possibly it would have performed better in a smaller size but there wasn't time to test. I will make sure to give it a fair test though when there is time and someone is willing to lend me a fin. I missed the strongest windperiod at the end of the day but I think I would have lost anyhow against Edwin and possibly some others.

The sail felt well balanced but I like the 7.8 over this size on the Monster 72. I totally like to sail the Monster series with relatively small sailsizes, probably due to the high efficiency and the fact that the board hoovers best with little nose pressure. The hydro hull gives a lot of dynamic lift from underneath the board when at speed and can be sailed with much less nose pressure than normal boards because of the steps. The back steps come into play in the gusts and level out the boardtrim. Tommorrow morning we might get a small reprise in which I can test if my findings are true or not.
