With temperatures much better then yesterday and the sun shining from time to time it was a nice last day of racing at the Telstar Speed Trophy. As I had to work in the morging I was (again) a little late for the first heat so only 35 minutes of the 1,5 hour left. After 10 minutes I met Daniel on the water and he told me he had a 57,5 run with my fastest run at that time being 57,2 I knew I needed one more good run. It was decided in the last gust of the heat where I was sailing behind Daniel and there was a nice gust coming towards us. I decided to sail a little upwind and make my board fly like I always do... when we entered the gust I was the first to go deep downwind and at the end of the run, I knew I reached 60 max... it turned out 62 with a run of 59,97... When Daniel joined me he told me he had a 58 run. Heat two the wind was more consistent, but didn't have the power in the gusts. I had one lucky gust where I could hit 63 mx and 61.88 run ... the others were high 50s. Just after the second and last heat the wind picked up an could clock my best speed and run where Daniel clocked the fastest max en run of the event. It was a very nice event to compete in together with the Swedish guys, superbly organized with great fun and many laughs. Thanx!
