Back in the Water after suffering from a full on flu which has totally knocked me for six. Today was a nice slalom board blasting day at daymer, wind was square, patchy and not really much above 20knots in the gusts. I've got some new lines which have a max of 30, which I set up today, previously I'd been using much longer lines and these short ones worked well, I also found the X-15 proto to work a lot better than the lightning, with better grunt going downwind.
Daymer is fun on a square course, you grind your way up to the bank then head off at 45 degrees plus on the nose of a gust into full on chop - the old select I have been using tracks regardless, it is probably 7/8 years old, but seems to perform a lot better than their more modern fins.
Really nice to be sailing again, I really enjoyed it, although I think I'm gonna be focusing on enjoying my sailing a bit more over the next few months in cornwall - certainly doing some more wavesailing, rather than driving around the country chasing gales.
