When we were rigging it was gusting 45 kt. very broad course. Right side all sandbanks and rolling swell. Left side seemed doable for J.P. and me. By the time we hit the water it was gusting over 50kt. Because of the broad course it was hard to go the first upwind stroke, but because of the hard wind I could step up and sail away straight upwind. I had to stay close to the shore because I didn't want to be out in the upbuilding winds. Where was this going to stop?

The downwind run was done out of control on boiling water with shit in my pants! after two attempts I knew it was impossible to stand this any longer. We struggled back and measured 61kt. Game over for today.

At least we tried, but this was more than to much for two plain "funspeeders"
