Sometimes it's your day, sometimes it isn't... Today was my day again !! wink Light wind, sun sun sun and lots of friends. And guess what... not even 1 freestyler today. They must have started their winter stop already !

It was almost a Loft meeting today. And definitely a Belgian meeting. Besides the 2 Avanti-riders all of the others were from the south: Paul L, Kurt, Joeri, Tim DW, Vincent, Gino, Dirk, Reggi, Willy, Paul VDP, André, ...

Wake up at 6am for traffic jam reasons (and also the wind was forecasted to be strongest in the morning): NOT. 260 km of traffic jam at 7am and the wind was far from the predicted 20-25kts. Should have rigged 7.8 which would be spot-on for most of the day. However I think I've found the low wind setting for the 7.0. Really great to fly over the water with that kind of wind. Started with the Falcon 51 and SS 23, but because the wind was too light, I prepared my Falcon 85 + Caspar Crossfire 29 and changed the SS23 to SS25 to have more lift. Tried the F51 with the SS25 first and already had 61.3 run (max 63.8) at 11am in light wind. When I decided to change to my FF85 the wind suddenly increased and did RUN °4 with my FF85. Quickly going back to change again for my F51, but the time window in which the wind was just a little stronger was very small (hardly 20 minutes). Just missed another 2 more minutes for a descent fifth run. Also first time that both my fastest run and topspeed were exactly the same on the two GPS devices (accuracy 0.01 kts great !!).

Later the wind went from full square to WNW and I took again my FF85 and did some nice runs (60, max 62) along the dam. I also went for a NM a few times, but unfortunetaly from the beach to the island in front is only 1600m (which is 250m short for a nautical mile). That's why the others all went more upwind (and 250m further wink). However I have a 1500m of 53 kmph which is not bad with 85L in marginal conditions (late afternoon)

Nice atmosphere on the water and saw alot of smiling faces in the sun. Not even a drop of rain. Wind was much stronger in the north, but I am happy that I sailed with the Belgian boys in the south. Did 115km so one could say it was a great day !! Happy with the results: I've almost forgotten my bad session from sunday... cheeky

Had a nice beer and some food before heading back home. Luckily my son was still awake because I couldn't open my trailer anymore. One of the rods from my doorlock fell off in it's hole and I only have a separate entry on the side (0,5 x 0,5m). He was small enough to find his way to the back of my trailer and release the broken rod.
