Did the convoy search mission to find a new spot as it was too windy to sail in Wellington. Drove up the coast and checked out a few possibles.
Foxton is a river outlet which snakes around offering a few good couple of hundred metre flat water runs due to an exposed sandbar at low tide (it looks as though it might be totally covered when the tide comes up). Pretty good wind angle and water depth so you could stay close to the bank (3-5m) for most of the run.
The wind slowly picked up so the runs were getting faster and faster - and then when we changed gear (Boogie changed down boards, and I tried one of his fins) but then the wind started to drop off.
Pretty good potential - with a run of 900metres possible. A fun day.
