Reef Run:  3 miles West of Avon the water goes from less than one meter deep to 10 meters or so, and the transition area makes a nice playground for windsurfers.

Fred, Steve and I did not make plans to sail to the reef, but we were just all headed out and kept going beyond the usual mile or so to the reef three miles out.  Had nice sunshine and strong winds for about a 45 minute session on the reef, then headed in to get some food and drinks and the rest of the sailors.

Steve and I had an excellent three mile drag race back from the reef, I ended up about 100 yards ahead of him after 3 miles!  Peak speeds were on this run, we averaged about 28 mph with peak of 33 mph on this one long run, including a mile run of 30+ mph- my best ever recorded for one mile.
