Morning session La Franqui at my favorite spot at waterpump. Tried 3 nautical miles, slowest 41,38, fastest 42,57. This was close to my personal best. 43 knots or higher nm was possible today if i was not out of energy after full week of mondial du vent. Now back to Holland.

First real speedsession with my new JP45.

Board has a lot of differences compared to my "old" CarbonArt but it looks like we'll become friends.

Anyway the wind was too hard to have nice controlled runs, 5.1m would have been a better choice, but who's complaining when we could sail a whole day in paradise :-)

Best session ever today at la franqui even though no pb's, started out on JP speed 43 & 5.0 Evo 5, felt Awesome!! then JP 45. It was a super windy session 45 to 55kn constant winds and being sandblasted, it was hard to get good speeds on the course as the wind was square and bearing off into the chop today was only for the faint hearted. my advice to anyone coming to la fanqui bring some ski googles as the sand is a killer...

Fun session in the sun. First time with the loft 5.6  

Sessie 28: De zesde dag op La Franqui, de eerste rit leverde meteen mijn PR op de Nautical Mile op! Watse had het goed gezien! Het was een wilde wind die voor heel wat ongelukjes zorgde. De ambulance moest er voor een Italiaan aan te pas komen maar ik hoop dat het een beetje meevalt. Opvallend waren naturlijk Jaques van der Hout en Peter Volwater die beide de vlagen van zo rond de 50 knopen de baas konden blijven. Mijn energie was na een aantal runs verschoten en na nog ff gesproken te hebben met Edwin Harteveld besloot ik in lichamelijk ongeschonden staat mijn biezen te pakken. Het was een fantastische week ook natuurlijk door de kookkunsten van Anne en de filosofische wijsheden van Watse. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

first day at Franqui, with (for me) tough conditions; was very difficult to surf for the first time with this set under these conditions; but after a lot of trying to start / failed runs I managed at the end of the day; 3 runs! they were not hard, but I managed it ;-)

I hoped that the wind would become some less to become more familair with my new set (Mistral sped 47 and 5.6 Severne Reflex 4) but the wind stayed till the evening; at 17.hours; thw ind was measered a max of 58 knots....that's a lot of wind!

today (Saturday) whe I write this, there is still a ot wind; hopefully a new day with some less wind; totry the set again and perhaps also the speed 55 ;-)

Tough day with really strong wind: up to 58 knots recorded at the waterpump!

Had to wait until 6 pm before going.  Quite a long running in time before I started getting a little more comfortable. The last one to leave. Hope to do much better tommorrow. 

maxed on 5m all day, slingshotting for big peaks felt too dangerous for me and the beach course was much more fun anyway, tried for 40 nm but no cigar. still pleased with nm and 500 spot pb.  

2e Dag...

Buitensporig veel wind met vlagen gemeten van 58 kn... en die bleef gewoon heel de dag aan.

Het was een heerlijk gevecht met nog goede tijden ook... m'n 3e tijd ...

Heel intens om in zo'n prachtige omgeving met azuur blauw water en een heerlijke zon, zo afgeslacht te worden door de natuur...

Nog een dikke spinout na een slingshot ... met een harde crash tot gevolg... zelf had ik niets maar wel een lat gebroken en al het lood uit m'n vest gescheurd... Na op adem te zijn gekomen weer naar het startpunt gevaren... de eerst volgende run was mijn beste tot dan en had er gelukkig geen schrik van.
