Can any Team in the World beat Swan River Mob from Perth Western Australia?  They have one the GPSTC 3 years in a row and look untouchable?

Here's the International cup for 2010

Hmmm,
I reckon  they are a hard act to follow but.........
If the U.k. gets the weather every month lol then there are some boys over here that may be able to have a peek.
But whats the chances of that none i reckon but you never know and i can't wait for the games to begin.
So merry xmas all.
Take a look at the evaluated ranking, there is not a single australian in the top ten, so the results of the gpstc are quite easy to beat i would say. But whats the point of that? We have already the evaluated ranking :-)
Hi Gerlof,

the point is that GPSTC is focussing on teams and combined rankings (2 sec, 10 sec, aplpha 1 hour etc.). On GPSTC it's not a one man effort but a group efort. I tink it's a brilliant and fun concept. It's a huge succes in Australia. Peter Vernet set up a topic on windsurfing.nl about setting up Dutch teams. I can only hope many will join. The way I see it GPSTC focusses on comradery and the fun aspect of speedsailing which is great. It could be a good idea to set up your own team in the North of Holland?
@Martin, i know that the tc stands for teamchallenge...but I'm not really a teamplayer, so i'm not very interested in it. I like windsurfing because its individual and you can compete against each other...not with another :-)

Well i don't know and haven't met any competitive windsurfers that aren't selfish and want to beat everyone else? i know all i want to do is get faster and faster and go up the ladder but why would tc change that all i think it does is encourage people to get on the water when they can.
If anything its more competition to go up against over the year.
I'm going to eat some more food anyway so enjoy the rest of xmas boys......
@ Gerlof I'm just having a bit of fun trying to motivate teams to join.  However, it would be hard for any team to beat SRM given the all-year conditions western Australia has.

@Euro Teams, Give me an idea of the best months for wind, and I will set up some months where Cups will be on offer for the winner of the month.
Interesting comment Gerlof. I never realised that that ranking was there. A few more might post our average speeds sessions when we,re chasing GPSTC results. A quick check of the Ausie rankings are
(Ave speed- top 4)  (1hr 8,9,10)  (NM 10) (Dist  top 6 (I think) )and (Alpha,s 2,8,9) in the world.
You can also use the challenge for individual results too.The SRM are so hard to beat because they are all great allround sailors and have wind for most of the year. Next year looks like its going to be great fun with even more teams to play against and an even better excuse to go sailing.
Hey Gerlof i'm sitting 7th in the(evaluated) alpha racing ranking ;)

@Craig, Am I correct that most of you guys don't post their sessions on this website, but on the gpstc-website? Than both rankings do not represent the true value of it.
I can't analyse the figures you presented, is that the ausie ranking on gpstc and did you made a forecast on the position in the evaluated ranking on gps3 in case everyone had posted their sessions on this website? It's hard to analyse that when the data is not shown in this ranking. To obtain information about rankings and sessions on the website of gpstc is not very userfriendly, it takes some steps to get to an individual session.

It would be good that there is 1 website where everyone post all of their sessions.

All GTC users are encouraged to post on GPS-SS we regard GPS-SS as the gps world body and keeper of the records.  Some of us (me included) get lazy, and only post when we do a PB.

Hopefully one day we will have compatibility between the 2 sites so everything gets automatically posted, but I'm told its no so technically easy.

GPS-SS is great, GTC is more about fun, teams based, with a club flavor to it.
Also we are probably going to have at least 4 monthly discards in the International Cup to give the Northern Hemisphere teams a real chance of beating SRM.
YES WE CAN !!!!!!!
Hans,
YES YOU HAVE ;-)  Increadible team posts from the JP/NP 46+knots Club are going to be very hard to better.

PS - Has Gerlof registered his one man team yet?
