Big winds and choppy water.

For the first time I was able to witness the kite speedies. It was an impressive sight and I'm truly impressed by their skill and commitment! They've got a clear advantage over windsurfers by being able to sail in ten centimetre deep water and just cross the sandbanks. The windsurfers were forced to go around the sandbanks and sail in full chop.

Bjorn told me the course was a lot worse than last year with three nasty sandbanks on the 500 metre course. Bjorn messed up his rig trying to push the fastest kiters.

We found a nice speedstrip at the end and hope to be able to post some high speeds this evening. the forecast is calling for windspeeds up till 48 knots! If only the water stays flat.... I don't think the angle will be good for extremely high speeds though, but perhaps we're lucky.... It will become an interesting day for sure
