Another nice training session. The new X2-23 performed very nice indeed. It was incredibly choppy for the given speed. The fastest run was close to the edge. I decided to let quit halfway during an insane accelleration phase because I was afraid to tear up the rig and break my big canal board in half. It felt as if 80 would have been possible during that run. The waves were low but sharp and steep and my knees felt like rubber at the end of the day. Sometimes the whole board was flying but the fin never lost track.

It was fun to see the others really going for it. Serge was having some troubles with his new Stealth 5,5 at first but later found the right trim with more downhaul and the same negative outhaul setting I'm using. The sails are nearing perfection but do need loads of downhaul to come alive, especially the smaller sizes.

Ben van der Steen just updated me on his race in Argentina, in which he finished second (great work). He told me the bigger sizes are feeling soft, forgiving and very powerful. You can play with the downhaul a lot. Hopefully I get the chance to try the bigger ones very soon.
