Was not really prepared for square 45 knot winds today, winds ranged from 30 knots to just over 45 knots, much more than forecasted. The freeriders were out 3.2m to 4.2m sails. The smallest board I had with me was the 53cm wide W53, it was difficult to hold the sail and board down in these square winds. The water looked like a pan of boiling water, rare sight at West Kirby these days. If it had been a bit more southerly, it would have been an epic port tack session. But it was fun and its always nice to see 40k on the gps. I think I need to buy a port tack fin for my smaller 44cm W44 for these rare port tack days.
