First GT-31 Doppler Post.
Good day sailing, didn't get long enough on the Water though. Air temp didn't get above 5 degrees today LOL
Got to Marazion about 10.30, and Thor and Dan Simpson were about to go out. Was going to rig, but it didn't look that good - not that windy and Jim rang from Gwithian to say it was howling offshore and 1/2 a foot or so swell rolling in. So it was decision made.
At Gwithian the wind was seriously strong - probably 35-40knots, I didn't have any suitable equipment for that today, only having the medium Slalom board so I had to put a stupidly small sail on with a tiny fin. Ho hum. Jim and Simon followed with their speedboards.
First few runs the board was getting lifted clean off the water in the gusts but was having a good time, blasting back and forth and having a few fun 30knot waverides on the tiny superclean waves.
Despite the cold air temps, sailing wasn't cold at all, thanks to the new quiksilver wetsuit and impact vest.
The wind then suddenly died after an hour or so and died to less than 10knots so we had to walk back.
Probably last sail of 2008 which was a good one!!
