Today was surreal. A constant drizzle, sobering skies and moderate gusts made for an epic windsurfing trip on the old trusted Falcon Speed. I love old shool sailing so much more each day I am out on the water. For next year my largest board will be the Falcon Speed for sure.

Our focus on using small sails is starting to pay off. Trimming range is insane and so is the handling. I hardly lost speed during the whole day and wasn't noticeably later on the plane but had so much more fun.

Some runs of 60km/h felt like going 80 because of the drizzle and grey environment we were in. The board felt as if I was snowboarding on fresh powder. Old shool start-ups with butt to heels during starting to get planing phase. Handplacement different compared to the past because of shifted powerpoints in the sails. The fins way and way better than a few years ago, let alone the decades ago in which I was learning the trics. Tarifa '93 still fresh in my memory.

Serge used the 6.3. I took the 5.6. We both tuned for light wind so low downhaul and 1cm less outhaul. Effectively this results in a sail lying against the wide tailend boom up until in front of the front harness strap. The release and breathing ability of the whole set is amazing, especially since I use the Noth Shore RDM and Serge No Limitz RDM. Serge of course took the day from me. I don't know how high he will end but for sure he was visibly flying on the 6.3.

The tribal asy was simply stunning. I deliberately tested for high wind today and used the 22. There is so much room left for accelleration it's crazy. And the good thing...I am sure the Asy 20 will hold underneath the Falcon as well. The CA44 is the hardcore rocking machine in case the wind truly hits our local beach anytime soon. I feel I am ready for it. Let the big winds come.
