Went to Herne Bay at 3.20 pm low to launch and realised that all the water had drained out of the bathtub. (0.2 low tide). Could see sea bottom in the middle of the harbour so ended up going back across the bridge and launched at Birkenhead wharf in the cove away from the boat ramp behind the breakwater. Westerly was super strong allowing a clean run past the wharf. Was actually WNW. Easy run up to the reef with incoming tide even with 25 HR fin. Was WSW up at reef (Not ideal). Tide came in very quick and soon chopped up. Long runs into Herne Bay but again needs to be WNW for quicker cleaner slingshot staying closer to the reef (Flatter water-  Top half to 3/4 of the reef is the best part of the run - 4th quarter might be flatter on west angle on dropping tide?) 25 lacked the added drive and speed of the 27 HR, hence lower average.

Spinnaker downwind reach back to base in heavy chop unhooked at times - stretched arms!
