First good sail for many weeks!

Easterly in the PiT. 20-25, gusting 30 occaisionally. Low tide late afternoon but it goo too low to clear the sandbars after I had done 6 runs! Need to get out there with a shovel tomorrow and do some gardening. It was one of those very low tides that seem to drain about 90% of the inlet out!

I had a few fellow retirees to sail with!

Started on my IS87 Slalom board and 5.4m Koncept. As I gybed after working upwind and put my front foot in the ohter strap the screw snapped! Bugger! Had to go back and fix it, but decided to take the IS50 as it seemed windy enough. Guess what? As I gybed to get upwind the front strap detached on that board too! Seriously, what are the chances???...

That meant another trip back to the car to screw it beach in so I had already lost some of the good tide.

I had an absolute ball though and it was great to feel the speed again. I managed a few 40 knot peaks and it was fantastic! . I probably could have gone faster on the CA40 but I was just enjoying the easy, versaile ride on the old IS50. I even got a half reasonable Alpha without really trying!

I think this could be just the first of many strong Easterlies for this unusual season!

2015 KA Koncept 5.4m, Very ancient IS50 with (severly eroded tipped) Lessacher 22cm LW Duo 30 speed.  Yeeeehaaaa!
