Day 2 LG Recce.

Slightly more wind in the gusts today. 20-25 at Cockys with the odd gust to 30 knots just before I went around to 5 Mile to rig and sail. I recon there was more wind out in the centre. It was gustier and holey on the 5 mile side in close in the flater water.

I went with IS50 and 22cm Lessacher LW Duo and 2015 5.4m KA Koncept for a few runs. 39 peaks.

Came back and got CA40. On the way out I thought to myself it will be harder to get upwind on the assy fin. It seemed way too easy. Then I realiesd I was on a Starboard assy and on the good side going upwind!  It was interesting doing the speed run. It actually felt pretty good and without pushing hard I got a 39.9kt peak.

Came in and changed to 19cm Vector symetrical speed weed 40 deg. Started getting over 40 knots immediatly.

At about 6pm the wind started to back off so I came in and took Jamies JP 54 70lit slalom for a run. 20 cm Lessacher Bull Speed Duo 40 was too short. Changed to 25cm Lessacher LWDuo 30. still slightly small but great when fully lit. Did a few Alphas but didn't really nail it. Board has potential so if the wind is up I will try again tomorrow.

2015 KA 5.4m Koncept all day.

The lake level is not far off when it was good a couple of years ago, but the weed is too short. It needs to grow a lot and the water to clear up to let the light in.

It was easier launching from 5 Mile as we only had to walk out 20 meters on firm footing. Then you hit the deep soft mud but no weed so a couple more steps and you could stat without catching weed. Same when returning. We could come in to about 25 meter and stop in the soft mud. A couple more steps and we were on the harder bottom. It was very convienient for changing gear, unlike at Cockies. It will be very different when the level drops another 15-20cm though.
