Best Dungarvan conditions in 2 years.

Had the wind, had the perfect angle, and eventually had the super flat water.... just didn't have the Mojo.  Was sick yesterday, and that left me very tired today.... so found it tough going and was not sailing with full powahhh.

Super high spring tide - which FLEW out and made it very choppy at first.

1sr run, found a new sandspit running off the beach, and hit it a full whack, breaking a batten in the 5.5.

Soon it picked up as forecast anyway, and it was proper 4.7 weather, 40+ knots gusting stronger. The tiredness showed up, not so much on the run - but the walking/sailing back was exhausting and sapping all energy, and at first speeds were dissapointing.

However, as the water flattened off, I knew I would kick myself if I left such good conditions... and finally got a 47 peak.  Not a PB as I wanted, but good enough to get me up and down the course 3 more times before the tide was too low and shallow banks appearing everywhere (due to spring tide).

Only 1 other Irish guy there, who got his PB. Where was everyone else?

I would love to see Jacques and Hans there today, banging out 50s all day long.

Beat my NR by 0.01 of a knot... won't bother registering that.... will wait until it's a speed worth talking about.

Finally a SW-W day - the perfect angle, can't be upset to have sailed that after so many square days.
