Strange old day - the forecast promised much but delivery is pretty poor (again)

Got there after a mad excited dash from work. Adam was out doing some wobbling onhis 7.0 so my gut instinct was to rig the 7.9 but Simon persuaded me to rig the 7.1.

I watched Simon go out and wobble so I did rig the 7.9. Did about 3 runs and the head cap webbing gave up the ghost.

After a calm trip back to the car, I went out on the 7.1.

Initially the wind was very light and was only just going in the gusts, but then it picked up with some good old gusts coming through. I'd let loads of outhaul off to power up the sail and just as I was bearing away in the biggest gust of the day I had a bit of a moment.

I was taking a long slingshot and the fin was well loaded up and then it was too loaded up. So I sheeted out a bit, next thing I was completly airborne and then got piled drived into the water at 25 knots. Smacked my head on the mast - my wooly hat probably saved me from a serious blooding and now I'm back home I've got a sore hand and neck as well. It felt bad and the boys were suitably impressed.
