Great  afternoons sailing very glad i went.  Late tide so i nearly did'nt bother going.

plenty of new spot pb's so very happy. Good to sail with Johnny , Simon and Bob who all seemed to be going well.

Wind started off a little fickle, but in the end it was nigh on perfect conditions for the short course at St Johns. Was out with Simon, Bob and Snake and I think everyone had a fantastic afternoon's sailing.
I had a couple of runs over 39 knots Vmax and Simon was asking, have you got 40 yet? - and I was thinking it was going to be another "close, but no cigar" day,
Then I latched onto a huge gust halfway down the course and knew I'd done something special, 42.35 Vmax on the dial - yeeeeehaar!!!
Absolutely delighted with new PBs for 2sec and 100m.

Was hoping for some better wind tbh. Very gusty and dropped pretty much on low tide. Then picked up when the bank started to be covered.

I had a really weird crash. I bore off into the channel. Trying to lay back to free the nose up a little. Then i just kept falling back. Still in the gust bust nothing to lean agaist. My arse just kept skipping on the water, which was like being slapped time and again. Luckily the fin held in and i bailed it.  My straps are 60 cm apart 12cm more than Johhny's and 8cm more than Bobs. I'm wondering if that was the culprit..

Still it was great fun to be out again.

Have to mention Johnny's superb 42.35 max. Being polite, I saw a gust coming so i went off before he did. Bad move. the gust didnt come through so aboted the run and looked up the run to see mr vapor coming towards me. A huge gust hit me and he just went with it. No sheeting out, just bossing it. With NO lead.

The bloke is nealy 40kg lighter than me. He has size 4 feet and goes to the action man shop for his shoes. In no way does this stop him. He's an absolute machine.

Good to get out, well done to Simon, Johny & snake with some new PB.

I think i packed up to soon.
