Well, did not go well again in Dungarvan 12 ,17 knots a first, forecast was around 35 knots!!!
With 5.4, spent most of the time watestarting, should have change to 6.5m, did 1 " kind of run", while Oisin managed to get a few going with is 5.5!
Next time Sligo bay, it's more exposed to Dungarvan to predominant wind. I have been sailing there a couple of time there are 2 sand bars wich can accomodate many wind directions for speedsailing,
1 hour max before low tide and up to 2 hours after
on port tack on westerly 260 + or -10 degree
starboard tack with southerly wind 180,
It also worked for me on Easterly port tack on main course
There is also option wind on the secondary bank inlet which is dead flat but get shallower and geting there is more difficult, also many oyster farm around.
No more Dungarvan for me now!!!
