Handmatige posting. Gaat iets mis met 2x achterelkaar posten. De zeesessie was aangenaam met allemaal verschillende nationaliteiten. Wel druk op het water, zelfs goed uitkijken voor tegenliggers. Al met al zware omstandigheden, waarbij de wind zeer sterk wisselde van kracht en richting. Overall te haaks waarbij ik geen zin had mij af te laten schieten. Niet erg bevredigend allemaal.

Ik heb mij vandaag super geamusseerd.

De Blade 5.1 is alvast een blijvertje.

Ik heb geen riscio's genomen en toch heeft het geloond.

Topper van de dag was Tom De Pauw, amai Tom je ging als een speer. Proficiat met jou dikke PR's amai. Zet de champagne maar fris.

Er staat voor woensdag of donderdag nog een dagje Tram op.

Dus de vakantie kan nu al niet meer stuk

Strange day @ la Franqui, never seen it switch conditions this fast and this often. 

Could just make one nice flying run and was screaming for more of these!

GPS results first competition day Mondial du Vent

Totally different game compared to GPS Speed, learned a lot today and had good fun. Was on the beach at 9am, wind was good enough for 5,5 already and normally wind increases a lot around 10 or 11 with these forecast. So didn't even think about rigging my 6,4, but i was so wrong by didn't pay attention to the clouds! We parked the van in between the competition area and the wooden pier, Wouter wanted to do GPS speed and cruised upwind, i went 2,5 km downwind to the competition area. So change equipment was not possible during competition. When i arrived for the first heat with my 5,5/45/20 i was on the smallest equipment of everybody. Most riders were on 7,0 or 6,4. Managed to do some runs, but these were not fast at all for this small set. After the first heat went back to the car and rigged my 6,4/50/23. When heat 2 started the wind shifted to N and increased, so again i went down with my 5,5. During the heat the wind decreased again and was again underpowered. Good lesson for heat 3, i went out with my 6,4 set and made my fastest 500 meter of the day in the and this was the least windiest heat. 

The wind on the course was super gusty, it was a battle to get a free spot on the course. Kiters are able to depower and to sail 1km/h, so if you are behind them its not nice. I have to learn how to sail very slow with my 53 liter board to get a free course in front of me. At the end of the day most people were tired (including me) so less people on the course and this was much better. Wish i could join Wouter at this super spot 5km upwind of the competition area, he did almost 48 knots topspeed!

Goed gedaan Kurt !

Van Tom zie ik (nog) niets verschijnen (?) maar volgens Benjamin zal 't de moeite zijn...

Super speeddagje met een zomers gezellig sfeertje, ..Toppertje!

Op het eerste gezicht zag het er allemaal nogal heftig uit en de 5.5 als kleinste zeil zou te groot zijn. Maar eens bezig bleek mijn slalom setje toch goed te lopen.

Tom en Kurt waren in hun goed doen en wisten vele pr's scherper te zetten, ..PROFICIAT maatjes!

Ik zelf heb geen pr's gevaren, en misschien moet ik maar eens iets grensverleggend gaan doen ...of kopen :))

5.1m was te klein, was te laat op het water

1 Run gedaan en dan (hard) gecrashed, zeil kapot en knie geblesseerd. Ben dan maar gestopt. Toch geen slechte run.

It was a hard day on the orange speed crossing at La Franqui with the best wind and kite surfers but it was fun !!

Crazy conditions but i had confidence in my gear, resulting in nice numbers.

Top >80/u and AVG 5x10" > 40 knts = more than i expected.

The combination CarbonArt + RS Racing = perfect for me !

Een fantastische sessie op La Franqui !

Wel spijtig, net geen 70km/u (komt nog wel), en de mijl was wat te kort (1km gevaren van 61km/u).

Misschien niet zo verstandig gevaren, niet veel gerust, veel runs gezet (21runs).

Pa, straf gevaren !

Tja, als het lijf niet mee wil...

sMorgens bij de heftigste omstandigheden op 5 minuten geforceerd (zonder een run te kunnen zetten) en dan is het over and out.

In de late namiddag  bij afnemende wind toch nog 3 underpowerde " runnetjes" kunnen zetten, is echter maar een kleine pleister....

Hopelijk wordt mijn fysiek iets beter met wat meer rustige surfkilometers.

Maar om dan zo hard te varen als Tom! Wauw! Knap! Verdiend!

Ook alle anderen proficiat met hun PR's.

(over dat PR van Dennis wordt binnen enkele maanden niet meer gesproken,..tegen dan heb je dat alweer een paar keer verbroken ;-)

At last, lovely La Franqui again!!! New board and new sail, took some tuning.. Missed out on the best wind before lunch, but still a nice session. A bit underpowered, but nice to get the 5,5 out of the bag. Feels just as nice as the other sizes..!! LarsD had a big smile on his face, sailing along the beach in shortsleeve wetsuit in april is just so enjoyable!!! Not as much wind as forecast, but still mighty fun..!

First time at La Franqui - great place and great company for sure!
