Got to St Johns and there were two guys out wobbling around in no wind. Spent 20 minutes deliberating between 8.2 and 8.6. By the time I had rigged the 8.6, the wind had gone from zero to nukin and all the freestylers started rigging 4.0s.

Rigged the 5.0, but the it looked like the gale had abated, so I rigged the 6.0 as well.

Took the Falcon Speed and the 6.0 to test the water. First run, I bore off the bank and got 35.7 on the dial, before the fear gland kicked in and I headed back to the safety of the mud.

Doubled back to the car to get the 5.0, which gave me a stitch!

Had an hour on the 5.0.  Wind was WSW and so very square. I was trying to bear off the long bank in the gusts, but the chop got bad quite quickly and my track shows I didn't get any broader than 120 and that was only one of the 9 runs.

After a squall had gone through, the wind died a bit and I was thinking it would be a jolly long walk in the mud if it dropped anymore, so I went and got the Falcon 80 and 6.0 to do some alphas, but should have stayed on the small kit. With flat water rapidly disappearing I called it a day.

Low water should have been 1.2m today, but something was going on as the mud below the walks and seaweed, didn't dry out at all today/
