There was a hint of a breeze today with a moderate westerly forecast so with low water at 12.30 at Harwich and the wind picking up I decided to head over to the River Orwell at Levington. I arrived around one with the tide very low and not a lot of wind, cloudy too so not very encouraging so had my lunch. Then there were a few gusts to tempt me out so I set up my foil board, sail choice was the next problem, with gusts to 17 knots I rigged 7m and easily sailed out of the marina entrance but had to wait for a large coaster to motor past before the game of hunt the wind started! I sailed back and forth in front of the marina only flying for short bursts, I think whatever sail I rigged would not have been right today but at least I got out on the water. Looks like some proper wind coming next week, might even get another trip to Point Clear?
