Effe snel 2 uurtjes knallen, stevig windje vandaag

Whoop whoop...Windy all week long but I only had a gap today to go foiling. SW winds are always very gusty here at the lake, but today the wind shifted alot as well. My goal was to master the foil gybe in high wind conditions: Tried alot of them, but failed alot of them too. 6.3 was maybe a little too big today (I had the largest sail on the foil today among other weighing +30kgs more). Still work in progress (easier with 9.4 in 12-15 kts) but managed to do 1 out of 3 'dry'. The problem is still to find the strap on the other side resulting in a wobbling unstable flight after the gybe untill my front foot is back in the strap. Used the 800 wing most of the day but when the wind shifted and increased for a while,  couldn't resist changing to the small wing (550) to do some downwind runs. Had 1 hammer gust while I was still in both straps and sheeted in. Didn't want to disturbe the balance so went balls out all the way... The stopping wasn't according the manual, but hey no broken ribs this time (I was wearing a crashvest this time) ;-) Too bad my balls were not big enough to repeat that for the next runs: Always with the back foot out of the strap...resulting in safer runs but lower speeds. Went another 2 times over 50 kmph but the runs were too short. 50+ AVG will be there one day, but it will be at or over the limit for me. Don't feel that there is still alot of improvement possible (speedwise) with my skills/gear.
