A very calm period and so I tried the lowwind aspect of the AFS WINDFOIL 85 with the racingblade 9.0. Wind was maybe in the gusts about 5 - 8 knots. To get up with the 9.0 on this set you had to get quite physical. We might need some bigger wings than the standard issue AFS f-700 and stabilizer v1 for these winds to make it somewhat more stable. But it did work and when you were up it just remained there with some technique but went down when the lull was too long. Which is quite logical :P

When the gust was there the combo is very nice! So the AFS Windfoil 85 is very much an option if you want to use a bigger sail as well. It can handle the pressure of the sail and is still stable when you know how to keep some pressure in the sail. Keep in mind that I am a light sailor. For a sailor 85kg+ it might need just a bit more wind or bigger wings.
